One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that when Luminar Neo is released, your Luminar AI catalog will not be compatible but, in a future update, Skylum will include a utility that converts your Luminar AI catalog to Luminar Neo. The “MUST SEE” I’m referencing in the title is the “Important to Know” info I talk about at the beginning of the video. In this video, I talk about the new things I learned about this software. On a recent email from them, the majority of their operations are based in Kyiv.I had another affiliate zoom call with Skylum software concerning Luminar Neo. On a recent email from them, the majority of their operations are based in Kyiv. I own several Luminar apps and was surprised to learn Skylum was founded in Ukraine. The plugin is installed when you install the standalone version. Luminar Neo (and Luminar AI) can be used stand alone and as a Lightroom plugin. However, if you really only want power line removal, why not just use Photoshop? Duplicate your background layer and just clone or content-aware remove the power line. It can be used as a plugin or standalone. Is it a Stand alone sofware or just a Plugin ? This is what exactly i want to do power line removal. I use Luminar only as a plugin to Lightroom. I've experimented with their dust spot and power line removal AI and it works well but some situations (as exepected) it doesn't do a complete job (busy backgrounds). Some of the filters I find useful (mystical). Sky replacement works well if not overdone and kept real. The presets can be nice but I usually have to dial them way back. I like the Luminar software but for specific tasks. I have Luminar Neo as well as Luminar AI. There are some free resources online and they make their introductory training available for free but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. The main thing I don't like about ON1 is that if you want access to the tutorials and training you have to pay for the "Plus" membership, which rubs me the wrong way. I mainly use Capture One, but for fun I also got ON1 which is similar in some respects to Luminar and would be an alternative worth considering. I feel like it has too much emphasis on AI and quick one-button black-box fixes I decided I'd rather take the time to learn more traditional processing techniques and understand them. I bought Luminar a while back and had some of the predecessor apps from the same company (Tonality was great and I miss it!). I’d consider it to be more of a basket of shortcuts and actions that can be handy but not completely necessary. It has some interesting time-saving tools (compared to, say, Photoshop) but doesn’t really do anything innovative. I bought Luminar 4 at a huge discount a couple years ago (was mostly curious). Just curious about Luminar Neo anny of you guys will try it ? If you do let us know if you like it or not.
